Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. -- Carl Sagan (Pale Blue Dot)

Damn! She was in some of my all-time favorite movies...."Picture of Dorian Gray" (they anglicized the title of Oscar Wilde's novel from "Portrait of Dorian Gray"), "National Velvet", and many others.

Could be foul play. Better send Jessica Fletcher on the case

But seriously, hard to find an actor with a more impressive resume on stage and screen than Angela Lansbury. My favorites from her are Sweeney Todd on Broadway and The Manchurian Candidate on screen.

    RIP and a life well-lived.

Quite the looker back in the day and her career aged very nicely as she did. Many starring and supporting roles. I looked her up on the net just recently being a little surprised she was still amongst the living.
She used to wake me up with coffee ever morning

"Murder She Wrote" was produced by her husband, Peter Shaw, and their two sons.

Because of her popularity, there was no end to former Stars wanting to play a role on her show.

Yep. Manchurian Candidate was way ahead of its time. Her portrayal was just scary good.

Trivia: she was only a 3 years older in that movie than Lawrence Harvey who played her son in that movie.

A good friend recommended Gaslight to me. It's an all time classic movie where that phrase is still used to this day.

She was quite attractive for sure

We just watched that movie very recently. She was only 17 when they starting shooting the film. It was her first one. Some of the scenes she did they had to wait to shoot until she was 18 because smoking was involved. Times have changed haven't they? Lansbury was a great actress that spanned a long time. Murder She Wrote brought her out more than ever before because of TV but she was great in movies long before that and the stage too I should mention. RIP Angela Lansbury.
