As a LH catcher, Sabol's an interesting enough bat to see what he has. He could pair with Stephenson and create an offense-heavy platoon with pop and some semblance of OBP.
But Luke Maile has been signed already.
And Sabol was announced as a DH and LF.
Sigh.
He's fine, I guess. I'd have preferred a relief arm.

I suspect the Reds see him as a LF option first, and a backup to the backup catcher, ala Farmer early on.
Supposedly he makes a lot of hard contact, but was fairly lucky with BABIP.

Sabol actually looks like he could be a decent pickup with a career .850 OPS in the minors. He draws walks and has some pop in his bat. Next year will be his age 25 season so it's put up or shut up time.

i was like who is this player. then he is gone with in seconds.. we still need to add a 40 man roster spot.. got to be a cheap cheap player out there that doesn't care if the Reds win or not out there right Bob?
WTF was the point? They truly out clown themselves every chance they get even when you want to be positive
Well to be fair their is just so much talent on this roster, I'm not sure how the Reds could have ever kept him on the big club all year anyways.
