Very sorry to hear of this. Browning was a good pitcher and seemed to be a straight up guy. I can remember when he first came up with the Reds and made an impact right away. Also the perfect game was his penultimate. RIP Tom Browning, thanks for a lot of good memories.

Godspeed, a true character who was the last of a dying breed (screwball pitcher) and a man who will always be remembered for one game and that he was perfect in that game.

I don’t know how necessary it was to share this. I don’t think there’s any reason to believe alcohol had anything to do with this.
