    The Reds announced that they have signed catcher Curt Casali to a one-year deal with a mutual option for 2024. In a corresponding move, infielder Mike Moustakas was designated for assignment.

    I am sure he would rather be playing 3B for the Reds and hitting 30 bombs in the middle of their lineup this year, but yeah, not a bad consolation prize.

    The irony is that Moose was underpaid until his contract with the Reds. Overall, his career earnings probably match his career production. Unfortunately for us, closing the gap between career salary and career production was at the expense of the Reds.

    I have the benefit of hindsight here but I can't help but to hurt inside that Geno had to die so Moose could live then they basically eat the whole Moose contract anyway due to injury and now DFA

    Alright who wants to be the first to predict a Moose resurgence with a team out west?

    Anyway nice to see them cut their losses, and Casali is definitely preferable to the backup dreck we saw last year and better than Maile too.
