The irony is that Moose was underpaid until his contract with the Reds. Overall, his career earnings probably match his career production. Unfortunately for us, closing the gap between career salary and career production was at the expense of the Reds.

He didn't when he was playing for the Reds....ever. On any other team, had he not been traded to the Reds he would have been cut. Years ago. He has no desire to get in shape and his weight under control. His plate discipline was bad. The Reds need to start their winning with expectations off the field.

Would love to see a list of all the contracts that this organization has given out in just the last 20 years that turned bad, and where this "small" market, payroll conscience organization, had to eat money. So can they write that 22M off their taxes as a depreciation?
