    Redszone 2023 Top 40 prospects Poll: #32

So a tie results in another dual winner with Tyler Callihan and Alex McGarry. A couple of arms replace them in Andrew Moore and Vin Timpanelli. If there's anyone that's missing (or that I've overlooked that's already been suggested) that should definitely be up for consideration, let me know. Because it feels like I'm just picking names at random at this point. Which isn't surprising considering that not all of the names I'm throwing on here are going to make this list.

    01. Elly De La Cruz SS/3B AA 20
    02. Noelvi Marte SS A+ 21
    03. Cam Collier 3B ROK 17

    05. Christian Encarnacion-Strand 1B/3B AA 22
    06. Matt McLain SS AA 23

    09. Brandon Williamson LHP AAA 24
    10. Connor Phillips RHP AA 21
    11. Sal Stewart 3B ROK 18

Balcazar, Hajjar, and Johnson will get my next three votes. After that I have no idea. Maybe Nelson just because it’s like the appears in the majors at some point.

Balzazar's my pick. Johnny Ascanio is a 2B/SS/3B who's got a career line of .314/ .419/ .396/ .814. He was really, really good in the DSL (.333/ .457/ .432/ .890) and the ACL (.344/ .423/ .459/ .882) before a late-season callup to Daytona, where he struggled. Which makes sense-- he was 18. His peripherals look good too-- a 20-ish K% and a BB% over 12. There's very little power, true. But the rest of it's pretty interesting.

I went with Hubbart as I think he could be a weapon out of the pen if the Reds want to go that route with him. The hitters in Daytona couldn't touch him(1 hit in 5.2 IP with 10 K's) in his brief pro debut last year. He has a chance to be a SP with 4 pitches graded 50 or higher, but I wouldn't mind him getting fast tracked as a RP.

Re: Redszone 2023 Top 40 prospects Poll: #32

we've reached the point where there are guys I just don't like Daniel Vellojin, Ivan Johnson, etc or just don't feel like I have enough information about. So... I went with Carson Spiers. I think he could be a sleeper among the starting pitchers. Maybe a Bronson Arroyo type. He gave up a ton of HR in AA, but it seems a fluke compared to the rest of his career. He may just have reached his level of incompetence, but if that normalizes, maybe he can be a back-end starter.

I know this isn't very scientific, but its what I've got.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!
