True, McLain does walk plenty. But he struck out almost 30% at AA. He didn’t hit in the AFL and most of the recent rankings demoted him. I haven’t seen him in anyone’s top 100.

Reds will probably promote McLain to AAA, but not definitely. Teams’ views on these things don’t always match fan perceptions.

    A C+? Lol.

I do get the Rosecrans logic though. Given the constraint “you have dump every player you can and replace them with pennies on the dollar players. Now, populate the roster”.

As an academic exercise, I get it. But as a fan, no. They have a few good players, a handful of promising players, and a lot of AAAA guys. I would give the resulting roster a big F. They are guaranteeing they will suck in 2023. Best of luck with that Reds. I’m giving you the skunk eye.

EDLC-- who's already had nearly half a season in AA where he hit for a 910 OPS and another 100 PAs in Winter Ball where he was one of the best players in the Dominican League-- languishes in Chattanooga. Even if you keep McLain at 2B and move EDLC up at the halfway point, why has he been delayed in a league he's already mastered for half a season?

You also lose the option of McLain as a SS.

Nah, IMO, it's sink or swim time for Barrero.
I do not see a log jam. There is plenty of abs in AAA. EDLC plays SS and 3B, McClain 2B/SS and you can try in CF since he played there in college and Barrero you can play CF and SS plus you have DH. And hopefully one of the guys play their way onto the Reds. I might even start Barrero in extended spring training.

The only excitement I have for this year in how things playout for the young guys.

Likewise. I got my MiLB TV account, and looking forward to the start of the minor league season.

    Reds looking for LHH Infielder

The Reds may not be done adding players. A source told MLB.com that they are also looking for a lefty-hitting infielder to compete for a roster spot.

I wish Cincinnati talk shows and media would tear the Owners a new you-know-what, but they'd all lose their jobs if they did, so they don't. Consequently, the Owners get away with it.

Does anyone have any idea of any LHH infielders still out there that they can ring in

I am cracking up at the idea grades for the offseasons of mlb teams tells us about the public school system.

The absurdity of it aside, I’d wager the folks that put that list together went to private schools.
What would you say.....ya do here?

Just to be clear here, you are making this statement, based on the sole evidence of letter grades being assigned to mlb teams for the offseasons they have had. You don’t sub to the athletic so you didn’t actually read anything these writers have said. By the way, multiple of them went to Northwestern. Perhaps the most prestigious journalism school in the country.

You are also stating going to public school means you are inferior?
