In my opinion Phil Castellini is absolutely the worst thing that has ever happened to this organization.

He is single handedly destroying the Reds fan base.

Once again he got a hold of a microphone and made an ass of himself.

Phil Castellini, son of Bob Castellini and COO of the Cincinnati Reds, grabbed a microphone and spoke again today. This time, it was at the annual Rosie Reds luncheon, and he used his platform to once again draw attention to his, uh, unique style of running a professional baseball team

That said, there was one point on which Phil harped that stood out most, complete with a graph that did highlights pretty much the exact opposite point Phil was attempting to emphasize.

That would have to be the case, but I don’t think it matters much. It’s quite clear that Bob is out of the picture and that Phil is running the show now.

I wonder what he means by that. Is it another way of saying that the team intends to break even? Every year? Does it mean that each of the owners expects to be made whole? So don’t expect a call for more money to be put into the team to go for a pennant when it’s close?

I'll be 69 yrs old next week. Been a Reds Fan for as far back as my memory can take me.

I can remember sitting on the floor watching the 1961 World Series with my older brothers when I was 7 years old.

We all knew how corrupt Phil was, at least now we know how stupid he is. He actually thought that what he said made sense and would get fans on his side.

I hope he keeps it up. If he keeps embarrassing the Reds ownership like this with more public statements, he won’t be in charge long.

Said it in the other thread, will repeat it here - it is jaw-droppingly amazing in a bad way that he made those comments at a long-standing fan traditional lunch. His incompetence is total. The complaining about guaranteed contracts is literally 50 years past its sell-by date. As long as he has control of this team through his dad there is literally no hope. 52 years on this earth and I am mostly done as a fan of this team.
