Re: Phil Castellini Has Gotta Go!

The crazy thing is.. the Rosie Reds, from what I know about them.. Aren't they the most die hard of all Reds fans (or close to it)? He's managed to even get them mad.. They buy a ticket so the world can know about Phil C's BS.

Well, if most of the teams are out of contention by opening day, doesn't that mean a minimal effort will make us an above average team?
Amazing that he expects fans to just accept the Reds will be a 90+ loss team forever under his watch (maybe an occasional miracle season of 500 record, getting into expanded playoffs and getting routed badly).
So he's telling them.. well, we're going to be out of contention by opening day, not my fault.. keep buying those tickets!
He is absolutely disgusting. Worst than John Allen, which is amazing.
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

Yea, record earnings, that's a crisis.

In case anyone needs a reminder, the system Phil is complaining about was collectively bargained and unanimously approved by the owners less than 1 year ago

yes - they are absolutely the most loyal of the loyal. And he chose their annual off-season gathering to take a steaming public heap. It is truly staggeringly incompetent on so many levels.
Well, that's what those words mean. He was here. If they don't keep him, he will have been lost/subtracted. I headed out the door today with two shoes on my feet. If I don't return with them, I have lost them. If I do return with them, I haven't added them. ---M2

He’s airing his industry grievances to the poor Rosie Reds while they have their waffles and bacon at some kind of off-season brunch??? What is wrong with this guy?

If owning a baseball team is such a bad business then maybe you should sell the team.

Complaining isn't going to change how the industry works.

I don't want to sidebar this and distract from Phil the Dumpster Fire... But dude... Mike Brown was most certainly NOT trying to compete in the 1990s. He was saving up money to buy the franchise outright (it used to be owned by multiple people) by running a minimalist organization in every way possible, while simultaneously trying to devalue the franchise as much as possible so that the sell price would be low as possible. And he achieved all he set out to do.

    Please, no revisionist history there...

The fact that they not only let him have a position in the organization, but one that is public facing... after showing how much him and his hair product should be locked away from polite society will get me to use my first instance of 'nepo baby' to describe him.

Its amazing this woefully awful person has lived a life uncheck and with success guaranteed thanks to the work of past generations.

Him complaining about guaranteed contracts is an absolute death knell to anyone looking for ANY reason to hope. So much time spent here talking about the Braves way of locking in young talent etc and how the Reds should do that...whelp. There is literally no hope for now OR the future with that mindset. And he's not even hiding it! He's proud of it! This is SO bad.
