    I had almost forgotten all about Chris Ford. He was a good role player for those Celtic teams and became a pretty good coach later on. That was the first NBA three pointer he made. The old ABA had used the three pointer since that leagues inception. The NBA took it after they absorbed what was left of the old ABA. I have no idea who made the first one in the ABA.

    Here is the box score for the first game ever played in the ABA. Only four players made three-pointers, so it was one of the following: Andy Anderson, Ron Franz, Les Selvage or Ben Warley. No Hall-of-Famers among that quartert.
