I hope Jake can hit better vs LH but he looks so bad against them. You would have to let him struggle until he could do it. Paul O struggled against turn so bad 1 year that Lou sat him down against LH. Either 90 or 92.

I just watched that Bally Sports interview with Fraley going to the ballpark with Jim Day.

I’ve always found Jake to be impressive as a player but that pales in comparison to his ability to pull chicks. This guy is a Hall of Famer.

Jake Fraley on how the Reds developed a mindset and an energy level during spring training

After a recent conversation that I had with Jake Fraley, I joked that we had just spoken for 10 minutes and didn’t even discuss the tear that Fraley has been on at the plate. “I’d rather talk about this other stuff,” Fraley said.

During his free time, he studies topics like sports psychology and mental health. With those insights, he has a unique perspective on the culture the Reds have been building.

Over the course of the season, Fraley has dropped lines like, “Confidence is a choice,” “Success leaves clues” and “Knowledge with action is power.”

Since Fraley has the ability to frame intangible qualities in such an interesting way, I asked him to explain the Reds’ success in 2023.

The start of this week’s newsletter is Fraley, in his own words, giving an in-depth description of the Reds’ culture.

I would like to suggest Fraley add this to his mantras:

“For the opponent, winning is overcoming our pitching. For us, it is the same.”
