FWIW, Reds did a good job picking these relievers all things considered. Not a terrible group. If Reds do better than expected (I picked 95 losses), the bullpen could be a reason.

His ERA had a lot of variance, but his FIP says he's soemwhere in the 4.60 ERA range. That's not all that great for a reliever though I do like that he eats a lot of innings. If he's cheap, he might be a better bet than a 30 year old career minor leaguer, but he's probably not a huge upgrade. I'd be fine if they'd grab him and I'd be fine if they passed. Not sure what he costs, but if they are going to use resources, I'd rather have a starter.
I'd rather have a Starter, too. There's 1640 Innings to account for in 2023. That leaves 1100 if our Big-3 each threw for 180. We have a lot more hitting than we know what to do with, but are uber-short on pitching. Why are we not balancing out our resources a little bit better?

I hope there's 10 pitchers available to be recalled in 2023 who will be at AA and AAA this season. We're going to need them all.

1640? Its pretty simple math. 162*9=1458. Some games will have extra innings, but some will have less than 9. You've added 20 extra games to the schedule to get that many.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Reds now have 12 position players including Vosler.

They have 13 pitchers including Law and Young.

Who is the final position player?

It is actually kind of funny I was just looking at this today. The team that pitched the most inning was at 1456 Cleveland. You have to remember when you lose on the road typically you only pitch 8 inning unless walk off in 9th or extras.
Bad teams like the Reds with a lot of road losses had only 1423 ip last year.

A great result would be 600 combined innings from Greene, Lodolo, Ashcraft and Cessa.

Bullpen could get another 200 solid innings from Diaz, Farmer, Gibaut, and Cruz.

I have a positive opinion of all these pitchers. That'd leave 625-650 from everyone else. Need at least 1 SP and 2-3 relievers to step forward to lighten that load.

So you’re saying the good news is there’s less innings for the staff to cover this year than we thought.
The bad news is… never mind. The good news is the bad news
