Luke Weaver is pitching today in a minor league spring training game. He won’t be ready for the start of the season due to a minor forearm injury, but he’s on the way back.

Elly De La Cruz (hamstring strain) and Christian Encarnacion-Strand (slight disc herniation in back, precautionary reasons) both won’t be ready for the start of the Triple-A season.
De La Cruz is due back April 12. CES could return between April 19-24.

Two Reds prospects to miss the start of the regular season
https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb...on/ar-AA1964Cg
Two of the brightest stars in the Cincinnati Reds’ farm system have been set back by minor injuries, and they won’t be ready for the start of the season.
Reds shortstop prospect Elly De La Cruz, a consensus top-10 prospect in baseball, was injured on March 18 with a left hamstring strain. He’s due back on April 12.
Reds infield prospect Christian Encarnacion-Strand was originally injured on February 13 with a slight disc herniation in his back. He only missed a few days of spring training in February and went on to become one of the top hitters in the Cactus League, hitting .577 with 13 RBI in 27 plate appearances
Encarnacion-Strand was able to play through the injury for most of the spring, but he hasn’t played in minor league spring training games over the last week.
Out of precaution, Encarnacion-Strand is likely to return fully to minor league games by April 24. He could potentially play part-time or start as the designated hitter beginning April 19.
De La Cruz and Encarnacion-Strand are both projected to start the year in Triple-A with the Louisville Bats. If the Reds determine that another level is best suited for their return to play, then they could go to another Reds minor league team to start the season.
When De La Cruz and Encarnacion-Strand are fully healthy, the Bats will have their most exciting team in a decade with a roster that has top prospects throughout the lineup and the rotation.
For now, the Reds’ farm system will begin the year without two of its best players.
I'm far more concerned for the "slight disc herniation" in CES's back.

David Bell said he didn’t even think about Joey Votto being ready for the start of the year until a few weeks ago.
Votto is close, but he’s coming back from a very major surgery.
He’ll start the year on a rehab assignment.

Central Notes: Senzel, Stephenson, Nevin
https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/...son-nevin.html
Reds outfielder Nick Senzel is starting the 2023 season on the injured list as offseason toe surgery delayed his start to Spring Training. It was expected that he would be taking over the regular center field job in Cincinnati once healthy but he might transition into more of a utility role. Bobby Nightengale of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports that the club is preparing him to serve in such a role and he could play third base and the corner outfield positions during his rehab.
Senzel, 28 in June, has a very small amount of third base experience in the big leagues, 32 innings over the past two seasons. He has a slightly largely tally of 49 innings at second base but then over 2,000 innings in center field. Switching things up while also trying to get ready for the season will be a challenge, but it’s understandable why the club would want him to try. He’s hit just .240/.303/.360 in his career so far for a wRC+ of 74. That production isn’t great for a lineup regular but would be more palatable for a multi-positional role player.

Votto is fine. He just had to convince himself of that. He's done that. He's starting at 1b for the Reds tomorrow.
