Cincinnati Reds transferred RHP Graham Ashcraft from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list. Right big toe stress reaction.

Cincinnati Reds activated LHP Alex Young from the 7-day injured list.

Cincinnati Reds designated RF Hunter Renfroe for assignment.

Cincinnati Reds optioned RHP Carson Spiers to Louisville Bats.

Cincinnati Reds selected the contract of RHP Connor Phillips from Louisville Bats
It's a miracle they still have a snowball's chance at making the post season with all of this.

Maybe, he has had 2 good starts and one terrible one since he was on waivers. Who knows what he will do in his las starts.

But that is Monday morning quarterbacking. The fact that every other team, including ones with the same need and more money to spend, passed on him, makes it hard to second guess the Reds passing as well.

I know he's scuffled since joining the Reds, but designating Renfroe makes no sense to me.

Unless he's injured. He's only 31 and still a legitimate power bat.

He’s a free agent in the off season. The Reds basically felt Fairchild would be better over the last dozen games and maybe the playoffs.

I knew he was gone. Just disagree that Fairchild was a better option.

Positional flexibility with Bader on the IL.

Still have Friedl and Senzel. It's not that I don't like Fairchild. I just think Renfroe has a few more bombs in him. Interested to see where he lands.

I've been begging the Reds to add SP since last off season so no it's not Monday morning QB. We all see the shape they're in because they didn't add meaningful SP over the past calendar year. Hopefully they won't take the same approach this off season.

Senzel has played more in the corners this year, not much CF, so Fairchild makes sense. Agree on Renfroe, he does provide the possibility of a few homers. But he didn’t hit as a Red so they made the call. Sometimes you just have to make a decision.

We’ve all been begging for the Reds to add starting pitching all season. Anyway, the point is everyone else passed on him. There were reason beyond money for that.

Not ripping either trade considering the context, but it sure looks like holding onto either Gray or Castillo would have secured a WC spot.

Castillo would have been a free agent, no?

I think after this season. Oddly enough, the return in his trade helped us immensely tonight.
