That is correct. Castillo had another year of control, which was a big reason why the Reds were able to get so much for him. He would have been on this team if they hadn't traded him. But then they would not have Marte and Arroyo for the next 6 seasons. We will see how that works out.

At this point I'm not surprised Newman was DFA'd. He finished playing on his rehab assignment over a week ago and wasn't activated, so you had to figure they were going to ride Senzel as the primary right handed bench bat.
