    Print those playoff tickets!!!!

Seriously, very good moves as the help is definitely needed in this area.

    We added Bader!

Now, complete the job by adding some Pitching.

Renfroe could be real help. It'll help that he's playing in a HR-friendly park.

Bader... is good defensively, I guess. And he hits LH well.

Well, I think this helps against lefty pitching. Wish they would have grabbed a starting pitcher. Bader and Renfroe are upgrades from Siani and Lopez. I think these guys are both playing against LHP.

A lefty, Wicks, is scheduled to pitch in game 1 tomorrow for the Cubs so expect the two new Reds to be in the lineup.

Siani is better than Bader. The Reds will regret this

I expect Reds to bring up Fraley and a pitcher (Antone expected) today as September call ups. Guessing Hopkins will be sent down to get to 28.

With two Hunters on the team the Reds should be good in the big game department now.

I just pictured the Reds winning a playoff series with strong performances by Greene and Renfroe, and the headline is "Big Game Hunters"

I think Siani will have a big-league career as a 5th OF who can PR and play defense. Being a lefty bat helps him, but that is easily acquired in minor league FA every year. There are usually a couple of guys who do what he does out there available all the time. Billy Hamilton is a current example.

Not saying what that type does is worthless. Teams need that. It's just not so hard to find that you need to sweat losing him IMO. If they want him in 2026, he'll probably be available on the waiver wire.

Do they get a 29th since they are playing a DH? Not sure if the extra guy rule still applies with expanded rosters.

I’ve been trying to figure that out this morning. Best I can tell, 28 players is a hard ceiling.

There are some web discussions that assume a 29th man applies, but I think that’s incorrect. We’ll know soon enough, wish I had a more certain response.

I was surprised they moved Siani off the forty. On the position side, other than the active roster guys, Barrero might have gone. But there aren’t many choices assuming Senzel, Hopkins remain roster players (both are active as of now). Casali is needed as insurance for catcher.

There would be other choices on the pitching side, Busenitz, for example, but my guess is Reds wanted to keep all avaiable arms in case they’re needed.
