If you look at Siani he was drafted out of high school out of a Northern school. So he was behind others hitting wise. He has startered slow at every level and had made adjustments. He has improved his plate discipline which is something I wish Cruz would do. Siani struggled mightly at the plate but after that he was real good. He will be like another Friedl.

By Cruz do you mean Elly De La Cruz? Are you saying you wish EDLC would be more like Mike Siani??? Because of Siani's plate discipline?

I trust that the Reds think they can do better than Siani. They have Friedl as a bargain for the next few years and have a lot of talent heading our way. I also think they could go grab a CF on the market this winter to help supplement Friedl (maybe even Bader if they could add him on a 1-year deal).

The bottom line is, young tweener position players like Siani aren't going to cut it on these Reds. That's a good thing. He deserves a chance to do it somewhere else, and I wish him luck.

Tomorrow Connor Phillips should pitch (4 days rest).

On Wednesday, apparently Lyon Richardson can be returned to Reds and start. Richardson had been called up as a replacement player (for COVID list guys). Unlike an option, no wait is required before Richardson can be returned.

MLBTR article made this point and it helps us anticipate the starters next two days. Hopefully, then, Friday, Hunter Greene will be able to return.

They are going to need to add a shuttle bus.

Not sure Siani would have ever stuck in the majors, but he does have some interesting tools. Couldn't they have avoided losing him by optioning him? If so, why didn't they?

They needed a 40-man spot, not an active roster spot.
