LOUISVILLE 2-4 7:15 EDT - Brandon Williamson (6.00) will take to the mound for the second time this season, hoping for a better effort this time out. His opposite number will be Caleb Smith (15.43), who was rocked his first time out.
The Bats are currently sporting a nifty 2.63 team ERA, which ranks them in a tie for second in the Internation League with Nashville. Conversely, Bats hitters are ranked second to last with a team OPS of .642. It's early still. It is Kids Opening Day, and there will be dinosaurs.

CHATTANOOGA 1-0 7:35 EDT - And, just like last season, Chattanooga will keep the name of their starting pitcher under lock and key until the last possible moment. The Huntsville Trash Pandas will send Coleman Crow (-.--) out to the hill.
Lookout pitchers fanned 23 last night, a pace that will be difficult to sustain.
Here's some baseball history for you:
SHE, Jackie Mitchell, pitcher for the Chattanooga Lookouts, a minor league baseball team, struck out baseball legends Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig during an exhibition game on this day 1931. Mitchell showed a talent for baseball from a young age. Her next door neighbor, future Baseball Hall of Fame inductee Dazzy Vance, taught her how to pitch as a girl, including his special "drop ball" pitch. At 17, Mitchell joined a women's team, attended baseball school in Atlanta, and was soon offered a contract by the Chattanooga Lookout for the 1931 season -- one of the first professional baseball contracts given to a woman. It was during this season that Mitchell became famous for striking out two of the greatest baseball players in history Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, pictured with her below.
