    RIP Dave Wilcox and Bob Berry

    Former Oregon teammates and former All-Americans who both passed away April 19th.

    Wilcox was a guard on offense and an end on defense, and teammates at Oregon included Mel Renfro and quarterback Bob Berry.

    David Wilcox (September 29, 1942 – April 19, 2023) was an American professional football player who was a linebacker with the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL) from 1964 through 1974. He was selected to play for seven Pro Bowls and was named All-NFL five times during his career. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000.

    Berry was named a first-team All-American after his senior season.

    (March 10, 1942 – April 19, 2023) was an American professional football player who was a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL) for twelve seasons. He was selected to one Pro Bowl in 1969 as a member of the Atlanta Falcons. Berry was a member of three Super Bowl teams with the Minnesota Vikings in the mid-1970s.

    I remember having football cards of these two players. But that is about all I can remember about them. RIP to them both.

    It's just really strange that these two Legends and teammates would pass away on the same day.
