Six Ks and 53 pitches in 3 innings auger well for Abbott's AAA tenure. Morel, Mastrobuoni, Bote, and Tauchmann are all legitimate hitters. Perlaza is among the Cubs' better prospects.
Among them, they have five Ks and are 0-fer.
Close the books on Abbott today: 5 IP, 2 ER, 7 K, 3 BB.
He's not going to get the win because Daniel Duarte absolutely sucks eggs, but that was a excellent AAA debut.

CES and Hopkins have Homered. McLain, CES and Hopkns all 2 for 3. Chuckie 1 for 3. Nobody else has a hit.
Duarte gave up 2 Hits and a walk with 2 ER in two thirds of an inning. ERA at 5.19. He was my pitching sleeper. He's still sleeping I guess.
