    Elly Grounds out. 1 down.
    MCLain Walks
McLain to 2B on defensive indifference.
    CES Singles, McLain to 3rd.
    Will Bension Strikes out.
TJ Hopkins singles in McLain. CES to 2nd.
Nick Martini up Strikes out. Bats lose.

Valuable lesson for EDLC, CES, and McLain of what life will be like with the Reds.

Seeing Anderson, Wynne and Strickland all in the same game -- lawdy, our slow pitch team gave up fewer hits than this crust of sunshine.

There are contractual issues with a lot of these guys that come into play when their roster status changes. Moving guys on and off the 40-man isn't like doing this on your dining room table.
the back seven or so of the 40-man roster are full of absolute chaff. Kaka. ****. It is absolutely NO barrier to bringing up legit big league talent. This is a team coming off 100 losses and has a big league roster that is near a trajectory for another 100 losses. I call BS that any 40-man issues should slow down calling up bats that are ready to be challenged.
Well, that's what those words mean. He was here. If they don't keep him, he will have been lost/subtracted. I headed out the door today with two shoes on my feet. If I don't return with them, I have lost them. If I do return with them, I haven't added them. ---M2

    This.

Here’s one: Stuart Fairchild: “thanks for your hard work this season and your cool haircut, we are going to DFA you today, if you clear waivers we’d love to keep you in our system with the Bats.”

Right. Not difficult. I can do that on a coffee table. Doesn't even need to be a dining room table.

That was just amazing. The most fun I've had over 56 seconds in a very long time.

Dayton leads 1-0 in the 5th.

Javi Rivera 5 IP, 3H, 1BB, 3K. Still in the game as I type this.

Is it wrong to hope CES doesn't get called up until after the Bats return home so that I can see him play in Louisville before he heads to Cincy?

The time has come to cut bait with Hunter Strickland and Randy Wynne. I know Nutof also was bad today, but he at least has promise. It’s unbelievable that the Bats managed to lose that game today.

Connor Phillips went 5 innings allowing 2 ER with 2 BB and 7 K's. His season ERA is at 4.00 now. He's ahead of schedule being in AA at 21 so if he can hold his own like he has so far I would expect him in AAA at age 22 maybe later this year.
