    Re: 4-28-23 Reds @ A's 9:40 PM

The Reds have added IF Matt Reynolds to the active roster and put Tony Santillan (knee) on the 60-day IL.

Reynolds was hitting .263 at Triple-A with seven doubles, three homers and nine RBI in 57 at-bats.

Reynolds gives the Reds another player who can play first as Wil Myers is on the IL.

Santillan suffered a setback earlier this month on his rehab assignment

Looks like the A's are calling up Rucinski from their AAA. His last major league start was in 2018. He has been pitching in South Korea since then.

So that means at least 6 shutout innings against the Reds

I liked the ending of the 1990 world series better than the 72 series.

Reds were the better team in both , imo. Should have won in '72 , as well.

1990 Reds imo were lucky. They played great early and in the postseason.
Basically rode 6 pitchers to a world series win. Rijo, Browning, Jackson, and the nasty boys.
Imagine a modern team using 6 pitchers to pitch 90% of their postseason innings.
    Never happen again.

They just matched up great with Oakland. Oakland had more talent. I think had Pittsburgh defeated the Reds . Oakland would've manhandled them. Reds had 4 power pitchers. Pirates had no one close to Rijo and the nasty boys. The power pitchers were Oakland's kyptonite.

Just my take. Either way. Glad they won. Otherwise we would be looking at almost 50 years since last championship.

WLW and Bally’s switched color commentators. Welsh is on the radio and the Cowboy is on TV. I wonder why.

Sadak or Lecure said Oakland and Cincinnati have the lowest hard hit rate in MLB.
Tells you the importance of hitting the ball hard consistently.
Yeah the soft hit ones drop from time to time. But over the long haul you need to hit line drives.

Cowboy won’t have any issue shooting a possum if need be, maybe.
