I think he will be okay. He is coming off a pretty serious injury. Might not be back to hitting like he has in the past till mid-season.
He may be a guy who doesn't hit 20 plus HRs till about midway through his career. But i think he will hit for average .

Maybe the Reds can trade Conner Overton to the A’s. He would be an improvement for their pitching staff

Barrero is an interesting case this season.

He has vastly improved his K/BB rate, from .15 to .44, but his overall production is the same. His BABIB is decent at .289. One would think his production would improve as his K/BB rate improved.

I can't wait until we face another lefty starter and get to see Fairchild start over Friedl.

I'd prefer Friedl play every day. Seems like Fraley is the one who doesn't hit LHP well.
But It doesn't bother me. It's not like Friedl is a must start star player.

OPS+ last year was 9. This year its 61. Still not good enough, but a huge improvement.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Barrero’s OPS is materially higher than last season. But with an ISO under .100 it’s tough to have good overall numbers.

If you can’t slide into 2nd base like that they might as well just stop calling it baseball. That is terrible.

Defense has been bad. But he absolutely should play every day. Over the likes of Newman.
Not sure if he has a future once the kids make it up. But it's now or never to find out.
