Not sure if he has a future once the kids make it up. But it's now or never to find out.
Nobody plays every day except Cal Ripken, Jr. Barrero plays most days.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Reds get Capel. Seems to have a good hit tool. Is LH and a OFer. Two huge needs.
Of course he is young and cheap so Oakland wouldn't deal him.

I know. My definition of every day is 5 out of 6 or 6 out of 7.

I agree with the rule that you can't overslide the bag, pop up, or slide wide of the baseline to interfere. Called correctly.

Have to use the bench guys too or they’ll be useless. Barrero plays most of the time, gets some CF reps, it’s fine.

Ramos is too good to make an out.

Still within in slam range. Need more runs to feel comfortable.

Too much Newman for me. Barrero should be in the starting lineup sitting no more than once a week. So if they play 7 he needs to start 6. If they play 6 in a week. Start him 5. It's time too see what he can do. This start two sit one. Start two sit two has to be difficult for a player to get in rhythm. Especially a young player.

We know ow what Newman is. We don't yet know what Barrero is.

Cessa at 64 pitches after five innings. Certainly not a dominant pitcher but he’s settled down to do his job. Maybe can go another inning or two tonight.

I don’t think it has to be that rigid. Sometimes overexposure isn’t a good thing. Doesn’t necessarily help Barrero. Play him often but no exact guidelines, be flexible, that would be my approach. Every player is different.

Cessa has only thrown 64 pitches through five innings.

And...I've gone to more games at Oakland Coliseum than any other Major League stadium in my life.

We may have a few west coast Reds games end before midnight. At least the ones that start just after 9:30 That probably hasn't happened since 70s or 80s.
