    Apparently, it is. Who knew?

Friedl/Fraley/Fairchild are all essentially the same player. Friedl/Fraley is IMO a redundancy. Of course, Benson was probably the same thing.

India, Stevenson (at least the version from last year), Steer, and Friedl are the only hitters we have that would be on more than half of MLB rosters. Casali, Maile, Ramos, Senzel, Newman, Barrero, Fairchild and Fraley wouldn’t make that cut.

The lack of talent on this team is appalling.

And then on the other hand, you have the Padre lineup. Night and day.

Yeah, it is. No one had playoffs in mind, but I thought we had a few adults on this team that could hit balls out of major league ballparks. Tyler Stephenson is no Mike Piazza, but 0 HRS, a .265 average and 11 RBIs thru 29 games is a surprise.

I feel very comfortable saying this level of ineptitude is a surprise.

    Bottom 3

Jose Azocar strikes out swinging. 1 out

Fernando Tatis Jr. grounds out, shortstop Kevin Newman to first baseman Spencer Steer. 2 outs

Manny Machado singles on a sharp line drive to center fielder TJ Friedl

Juan Soto doubles (5) on a ground ball to right fielder Stuart Fairchild. Manny Machado scores. Juan Soto to 3rd.

Nelson Cruz grounds out, shortstop Kevin Newman to first baseman Spencer Steer. 3 outs

Well, yeah but it does depend on the roster. I can't say you are right or wrong on that. Casali would find work in the majors. Senzel would. The rest -- pfffft ... but I don't plan to die in that ditch, debating you on that. There is a reason this team is picked to finish last. I don't see a need for Fraley and Friedl on the same team.

Not when he was called out when he made the right swing decision!

I predict the Reds will not be no-hit this season even though trends might suggest otherwise.
It is really really hard to no-hit a team.
