Dimitri Young was the first player I ever noticed doing it. It was fun. Now every player on every team does it now. And each team comes up with a different one each year. It's tired. End of old man rant.

Well they wanted baseball to be more like football for excitement and that’s what you get. Celebrating over the most minute play no matter the score. It’s always the over correcting. This is part of it. No more unwritten rules. Everything goes.

Cessa has got to go. He has no put away pitch and gives up way too much contact. 9 Strikeouts on the season says it all.

cessa is straight batting practice. he's one of those guys we'll talk about in a few year and be like "can you believe this guy was actually in the starting rotation?"

On this Reds team, he can get PAs and he's far from our biggest problem
For his career, Fairchild has 193 PAs at an OPS+ of 102. He's a major league player. Probably a platoon or a bench guy, but he plays solid defense and can run a little. The Reds total lack of pop leaves him mis-cast hitting in the middle of the line-up, but that doesn't mean he's not a solid big leaguer.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Hopefully this is his last start. Though Weaver isn't much better but at least he can strikeout a few batters with runners on.

Agree and I said this last night. There are a lot of bad players on MLB rosters. Fairchild would make nearly every teams roster. I get that he shouldn't be hitting cleanup but it's not like they have a bonified 4 hitter.

As of June last year he was not a major leaguer as the Giants waived him. If what he's done since then makes him "a solid big leaguer" then kudos to him. It's sure not his fault that he hits 3rd or 4th in our lineup. That's on Bell and the front office for the lack of good players
