That's two really good outings in a row from Parks. He's 22, so this isn't some 26 year old fooling kids. Any info on this guy? What are his chances? He was an 8th round pick in 2021 and that's all I really know about him.

    Fangraphs:
Parks sits 93-95 mph as a starter and will show you a plus slider. He barely throws his other two pitches and is probably destined for the bullpen eventually, where he’ll be a main-lister if he throws harder in relief.
Tall and tiny (6'4", 187 lbs. when he was drafted), Parks has upside and solid spin on his slider and change. He's not walking as many people this season and is throwing more strikes. Good to see.

Hunter Parks was #395 in Baseball America's top 500 draft prospects for 2021. At that time he was 6'2" and 165. He is now 6'4" and 187. Favorable write-up in BA as they noted that he had 70 grade arm speed that might lead to a 100 MPH FB down the line. He was converted to pitcher (outfield?). The comment was that the team that drafted him should be patient with his development in that he was relatively new to pitching. The Reds have done that. He threw 78 pitches in this start, high for the season. He bears watching as he might be a sleeper.

Liked what I saw of Parks yesterday. He’s got a nice loose arm. Sweepy slider has potential. Working on a changeup, and it seems like a plausible pitch. Didn’t get readings on the fastball but velo looked solid. So the necessary pitch mix is in place. I can see why they placed him at the front of that rotation. Dayton’s starting staff, now that they’re getting Petty, is shaping up as a real proving ground behind Abbott and the hard throwers at Chattanooga.
