Somebody's going to win today, 7-6. I hope it's us.

So outside of poor hitting and catcher defense, Stephenson also has the two worst base running gaffes of the year?

Baseball is like church. Many attend, few understand
I'm pretty conservative when it comes to advancing young prospects but maybe its time to start thinking about bringing up this McLain fellow.
The 100 mph fast ball is getting struck pretty squarely so far.

A little music for the Alonso chin...and he walks him. Better than the last AB.

He really needed that one pitch out there.

Myers is trying to hit a homerun every time up.
He's always been major league average when it comes to pulling the ball at 28%, but this year, when he's not striking out (37 K's to just 8 Walks), he's pulling the ball at a 44% clip. He's never in his 11 years been a guy who makes productive outs. He's at 22%, his career norm. The Major League Average is 28.4%.
He's a negative on any team.
He's 32 and going downhill fast. In 2021, his OPS fell 191 points. In 2022, it fell even further, 55 more points. In 2023, it's pummeling downward even more, another 102 points. There's no surprise here as he only OPS'd 800 or better once in his 11 years in the big leagues.
He swung for the fences his whole career and he got lucky one year, in his age-29 season.
Can't wait until he's gone. There's no future here for him. He's not even someone who should be taking at-bats. I'd rather give them to a career Minor League player who is 30 years old than to Myers.
