Great post. I think Sean Casey was the first player *I* noticed that did this stuff. Had to readjust his gloves and hat on every single pitch. It's ridiculous. You're a pro. Get up to the plate, and swing. Huge egos is what drove that stuff. I'm glad they put an end to that, but it shouldn't have ever been an issue to begin with.

I like speeding up the game and all, but one of these days a huge game is going to be decided by the clock and there will be some seriously upset people.

i'm more than ok with it. how is it any different than the shot clock going off in basketball before you shoot the ball?

Well I could point out the differences all day long, but that is neither here nor there. I am merely pointing out that once the clock ends a game, lets say in a Yankees vs. Red Sox game, you can be damned sure there will be very mad fans. I like it except for the eventuality of it changing a game where one would rather it be decided on the field. On the other hand, everyone knows the rule, so there is no excuse.

I am wearing my Cincinnati Reds neck tie to a wedding today. Hopefully, the Reds can win this game for even better conversation.

The wedding was after the game. At the wedding I sat at a table where we did not know anyone. Someone struck up a conversation about my tie saying they liked it.. They don’t seem to keep up with the Reds any longer but we had a great talk about the Big Red Machine days. Very nice people.

That was one hell of a win by the #Reds

Understand just how big time Diaz was.
He threw 15 pitches last night.
He was rushed into the game by injury in 8th today.
He walked a three BB tightrope …..waved off David Bell……..and on his 40th pitch he reached back to get K with the bases loaded to win the game.

That performance should be remembered and talked about.
A lot.

Had to leave and get in car in the Sims inning and man alive did Brantley wear out Bell for burning sims on one batter and not bringing him back for seventh. Like, the entire half inning he aired Bell out.

Is Sims ok? Did you all comment on the decision as well?

Brantley wrong again as usual.
Per David Bell pre game, Lucas Sims was not feeling well yesterday thus the pitching only one batter. Bell didn't mention if he was still ill or not.
