6 years is a long time to be in a therapeutic relationship with a practitioner most therapy sessions with a counselor tend to last weeks, months or years depending on diagnosis and severity of the issues being worked through etc...reason being the relationship stops being effective at a certain point.
I know that you felt a connection to your old therapist but there is a possibility that her treatment was no longer as effective as it should have been. It sucks in the now knowing that she was not being ethical with you however the new therapist your seeing might be beneficial and help you see some things your old therapist may have been blind to due to her familiarity with you over the course of your 6 years of treatment.
I am glad you are seeing someone now that is calling things like they see it this may help you work towards some new goals and treatment objectives. Give them a chance to help you sort through this tremendous amount of pain and trauma you have endured.
