Love the fact that the bullpen has everyone able to pitch today. Good day for a sweep.

I don't know about everybody else but I have had about enough of Stuart Fairchild.

Fairchild is fine as a 5th OF. Can play all three spots and is a better hitter than Nick Senzel. Fraley against a lefty is the big issue with this lineup. Friedl is the one who should be in there if he’s healthy.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Stephenson caught Ashcraft last time, and much was made about the pitch selection being poor. Hopefully they have worked to address that for this start.

You don't understand. It ain't just the line-up today, it is that I have had enough of Fairchild.

Wait, I'm one of the biggest Senzel detractors ... but you think Fairchild is a better hitter than Senzel? Interesting. Not saying you're wrong, just surprised to hear that.

I believe as the roster currently stands that Fraley should be given starts against LHP. I know his past against them has been horrible. But I believe he is a better player now. I'd at least give him 10 straight starts against them and see how he does.
He is one of the few who is a HR threat on the current roster.

He's in the starting lineup today vs LHP Drew Smyly, let's see how it goes. I would Love to pin another loss on the baby bears today.

He is by the numbers for their careers. Fairchild is a league average hitter (99 OPS+) Senzel is not (75 OPS+)/

Regardless of who's playing for us it seems we've had issues with junk balling lefties. Hopefully Ashcraft can command his 98mph knuckle ball today and not have THE INNING that he's had the last few times out. A sweep of the Cubs in Chicago would be fantastic.

Fairchild's MLB career is a very small sample size, but let's take a look at the minor league numbers (FWIW):

Senzel: OPS of .881 in 974 ABs

Fairchild: OPS of .805 in 1412 ABs

    Both are 27 years old.

I would take Senzel over Fairchild for sure. But Fairchild could easily prove me wrong because there is obviously not a big gap either way.

True, but Senzel had a hot streak even better than that earlier this season.

And now I'm done defending Nick Senzel. Lol.

I wonder I'd Friedl woke up a little sore from his encounter with the bricks yesterday.

Not sure 5 year old MiLB numbers are relevant...even with senzels hot streak this year, Fairchild still has a higher OPS+ than senzel.
