Wish they would have gotten the third run in, but good inning regardless.

44 pitches through 2 for Smyly.

Manufactured runs using speed on the base paths.

Runners are timing the deliveries. Avg. pitch clock/to pitch is w/ 8 seconds remaining. Pitchers can only throw twice to a base. Guys are getting walking leads from 1st like they used to only do from 2nd. SB's success rate at historically high rates this season.

Baserunner knows the pitcher needs to throw the ball in allotted time is a big advantage.

I'd much rather have good situational hitting, like Fraley, Senzel, and Newman that inning and base hits within the park for 2 runs!

This is in Ashcraft's head. Suddenly he can't find the zone. you can see it coming.

As Keefe pointed out, I would like to see Fraley play everyday. I think he's a better player now than he was in yesteryear. Give him the chance to show he can hit lefties NOW.

I thought you could go to the base the 3rd time but you have to get the pick off or give up the base. Right?

Yep, but not many are going to chance it.

The ball hit the bat. Wisdom is doing a little acting there.

Ashcraft doesn't know where his fast ball is going right now.
