Carlos Sanchez just got a pretty big write-up in The Athletic. That kid looks like the real deal. Esmith Pineda knocked the stuffing out of the ball for two weeks in the DSL last year, then got hurt and missed the rest of the season. Ricardo Cabrera was a big-time signing at SS too.
Agree with these three along with 2B Carlos Jorge and Alfredo Duno, the catcher who was last year's big signing and arguably the most heralded of all of the Reds' signings the last few years.
Sanchez, Pineda and Cabrera should all start in Arizona instructional league this month.
Jorge is tearing up Daytona and Duno will start in the DSL I'd imagine.
So the Reds' all teenager team looks something like this:
C Alfredo Duno
1B Sal Stewart (drafted)
2B Carlos Jorge
SS Ricardo Cabrera
3B Cam Collier (drafted)
LF Hector Rodriguez (acquired in trade from Mets)
CF Carlos Sanchez
RF Esmith Pineda
No teenage pitchers of note that I'm aware of at this time. Hopefully they change that and take Noble Meyer in the sandwich round next month.
