DSL Reds today. 20 runs on 12 hits and 12BB. No errors .

CES over the last 6 has played 3rd (twice), 1st, RF, LF and DH. He's got a walk and a pop-out.

Callihan and Callahan have both heated up of late. Austin is hitting .280 and Tyler is at .313 so far in June.

    Re: Midsummer Notes & Thoughts

Julian Aguiar posted five shutout innings to lower his season's ERA to 2.19.

Chattanooga is pounding the Trash Panda 12-0 after 3 innings.

Rece Hinds left the stadium again. This was rocket number 12. He has also been hit by a pitch twice.
James Free has homered, doubled, walked and driven in 7 runs.

The MANE beneficiary of this outburst is Lyon Richardson. He has posted three zeroes so far on the scoreboard. No walks to go along with 4 Ks. His ERA is a miniscule 2.17.

Louisville is getting in on the fun with an 8-spot in the bottom of the 4th inning.

Jose Barrero has a 3-run shot.
CES with a single and a walk.
Michael Mariot, who pitched for the Bats in 2021, is on the mound. He has allowed a single run over 5 innings.

Hinds' 12th HR is now tied for the Southern league lead. His 42 RBI are 2nd.

2 HBP today improve his OBP as well.

    Ridiculous hot streak.

    Re: Midsummer Notes & Thoughts

Richardson went 4 innings and 76 pitches.

They're stretching him out, slowly but surely.

(His previous high pitch count was 65, fwiw.)

Today's start drops Richardson's seasonal ERA below 2.00.

Dude's going to be a top 100 prospect by the end of the season.

    Dayton's Cade Hunter stole home.

Hector Rodriguez has two more hits today and has taken over the team high in BA from a slumping Jorge.

Yerlin Confidan hit his 1st HR of the season.

CES with 2 hits so far.... One for a double and the second one was hit too hard... just a single even though it hit the wall. He's also walked. He's playing 3rd tonight and has made a couple really nice plays.

Reynolds his another monster homer and the Bats are up 9 in the 7th.

Assuming he stays healthy and continues to pitch like this, I just can't see any way he's not a top 100 prospect lists at the end of the season.

Dude's been absolutely lights out all year.

He, Petty, and Acuna are all legitimate top 100 prospect possibilities, as are Phillips and Richardson.

When was the last time the Reds had five pitching prospects in the top 100 lists?

CES fell below .350 for the 4th time this season yesterday after an 0-5. Tonight, he's 3-4 with a walk and is back at .354

I think Phillips, Petty and Richardson all have a real shot at Top 100 if they continue to pitch like they have this year.

Not sure Acuna or Aguiar do - I think that's rose colored glasses. Neither one is a big pedigreed teenager, and they're both in A ball with single digit K/9. I like that they're performing well this year with impressive ERAs, but let's not get too carried away.

James Free tonight has had 2 AB's with the bases loaded. He's doubled in 3 and hit a grand slam. Up to .280 now.

They're among the top three or four pitchers in the High A Midwest League.

That is almost always a precursor to a top 100 prospect.

Especially when considering age. (Acuna's the youngest pitcher in the league, aside from Chase Petty. Aguiar's 22.)

Reds affiliates outscored their opponents a combined 61-16 today , and that's with an 8-1 loss in the mix.
