Were Balcazar to have been healthy, perhaps that could have been revisited, but there's a bit of a traffic jam right now, and Jorge has a lot of time. The Reds can be patient.
I agree no need to rush Jorge, remember he went through this.

Daytona is leading 4-0 in the third, and are threatening to add on some more runs.

Yassel Pino is 2-2 with a pair of two-baggers.
Hector Rodriguez keeps on rolling, singling and tripling in two trips to the plate.
Bryce Hubbart has worked three scoreless, fanning five along the way.

Louisville leads 1-0 after an inning and a half.
Henry Ramos doubled. Mike Siani singled. Chuckie Robinson sac flied (flew?) him home.
Levi Stoudt is on the mound for the Bats.

I was just about to brag on Levi Stoudt, when the wheels fell off. He dispensed of the first five hitters efficiently. And, then, walk, walk, nubber back to the pitcher base hit and grand slam. The number nine hitter, OPSing just over .500, went yard.

Single, single and Levi is heading for the showers. Eduardo Salazar is in from the pen. After a 10-pitch first, Stoudt was at 34 pitches and counting in the second, before being removed.

Levi Stoudt is a reliever in the Tim Birtsas mold IMO. Not completely useless but a secondary guy.

Love a good Tim Birtsas reference.

You sure he’s not more Tim Layana-esque?

Big Birt. My memory of him was if I saw him in the game, I knew we were losing. He was a mop up guy with very marginal stuff

    Out in Arizona, 5 ACL-Reds hurlers combined for a 7-inning no-hitter in a 3-0 triumph over the ACL-Giants.

Ricardo Cabrera singled, doubled and walked. He is OPSing .996 out in the desert.

Hector Rodriguez singled twice, tripled and walked for Daytona. His OPS stands at .942 now.

    Other hot Daytona bats:
Cade Hunter singled, walked and homered (6).
    Cam Collier walked 3 times.
Yassel Pino singled, doubled and walked.
Victor Acosta singled, doubled and walked twice.

    Bryce Hubbart went 4 innings. 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 K.

    Tony Santillan scuffled through 1 inning of work: 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 1 K.

    Layana is a step up.

Blake Dunn sputtered coming out of the gate at Chattanooga. However, since his 1-12 start he has put together a 10-game hitting streak. 7 of those games were of the multi-hit variety, including 4 hits last night. His line since that rough start: .476/.522/.667/1.188. Side note: He has been hit by a pitch 20 times so far in 2023.

Really like the development of both Dunn (who's been otherwordly in short stints in High A and AA) and Hinds (who's riding a hot streak) as OF prospects.

Blake Dunn is such a Cardinals-type prospect.
