For those (like me) expecting a bump from, say Chase Petty to Chattanooga, the anouncement of Teddy Stankiewicz as the Lookouts' starter should put the kibosh on that notion.

Julian Aguiar's next start, fwiw, isn't until the 30th of June or 1st of July.

Jose Acuna's next start is one day after.

Christian Roa will be on the mound for Louisville tonight.

Chase Petty has worked 3 scoreless frames so far tonight on 34 pitches. His ERA is down to 1.16.

    Christian Roa's AAA baptism was not pretty: 2.2 IP, 9 H, 8 R, 8 ER, 1 BB, 1 K 3 HR.

CES has a triple in 2 plate appearances.
Matt Reynolds blasted his 14th on the season.

Jose Barrero is struggling big-time. Hitless on the evening, his average has dropped to .129.

Chase Petty went his customary 4 innings. He shut down opposing hitters on three hits.

Rece Hinds is 1 for 3 on the night so far. He has singled, stolen a base (11) and shot down a runner at third.

All the folks who preached patience with Barerro. Amazing the step forward this offense took when McLain and EDLC replaced Barerro at SS. The guy has serious offensive issues and a major league team can't afford to let him work through them at the big league level. The Reds were more than patient with him

Barrero smacked a 2 run double in a furious comeback that saw him strike out on a 9 pitch AB with 2 on after being down 0-2 in the AB. He made 3 outstanding plays in the field at short as well.

They are showcasing him for sure. If he were there and playing an OF position I'd say he could work his way back but he's been at SS every game.

Chris McElvain bumped up to Dayton on the 20th of June. I missed that, apparently.

He's starting Game 2 today vs. West Michigan.

Connor Phillips makes his first start in AAA tonight as well, against the Indians of Indianapolis.

Holy Hamburger Helper, Batman! The DSL-Reds put the ball in the endzone three times today, while holding the opposition to a touchdown and 3 field goals. 21-15 is the final.

Yeycol Soriano reached base 4 times on 3 singles and a walk.
Rafhlmil Torres one-upped him with 2 singles to go along with 3 bases on balls.
    Alfredo Alcantara walked 3 times.
Alfred Duno singled 3 times, doubled, homered (2) and drove in 6 runs. BA now .419. OPS 1.203. Now boarding for Goodyear, Arizona. Probably sooner rather than later.
Adrian Reyes doubled and walked twice.
Anielson Buten singled twice, tripled and walked.
Henry Guerrero singled twice and walked.
Jesus Correa singled twice, tripled and walked.

20 hits, 12 walks, 2 stolen bases and 3 sacrifice flies for the DSL-R
9 pitchers were used in total by both teams, and all of them gave up 2 or more runs.

Has Duno caught yet? Near as I can tell, he has been DHing.

He's not going to catch at all this year. Partly it's a little arm soreness they don't want to mess with, partly to work on some fundamentals on the side.

That would be super aggressive, but yeah, I'd love to see it.

Rece Hinds doubled in the first, but was replaced by James Free to start the second. No idea why.

Lyon Richardson with 3 more shutout innings. 1 hit, 2 walks, 1 strike out. 56 pitches.

    Re: Midsummer Notes & Thoughts

Connor Phillips cruised through the first, but did not make it out of the second. 1.2 IP, 2 ER, 5 BB.

Stuart Fairchild has his 3rd home run since being sent down.
Henry Ramos has tripled and walked twice.

Tony Santillan has pitched on consecutive nights, which would seem to indicate that he is about ready to come off of the rehab assignment. Shades of Todd Coffey, MiLB.com has Santillan listed as being 6'3" and 285 pounds.

Looking at him on the mound the last 2 nights, I'd say that might be generous. That back issue has kept him from running it seems. That said, the velocity is there and the breaking stuff was pretty nasty. He'll be a huge help.
