Would it be better for Arroyo to stay at Dayton or move up to Chattanooga before the end of this season?

IMO let him stay at Dayton. Rewards the Dayton fans. Allows him to enjoy the success. Chatt next year. He's certainly an exciting prospect. It would be interesting to see a breakdown comparison of Arroyo/Marte to Volpe/Peraza. Yankees said no to trading their two, Seattle said yes and locked up Castillo. Kinda glad the Yankees said no.

I think they should leave Arroyo in Dayton the rest of the year. It took him a few months to adjust so let him dominate the level as a 19/20 year old. Starting next year in AA at age 20 puts him in line to be in MLB at 21/22. Since the start of June he's been exactly what the Reds had hoped for when they traded for him. He has as many extra base hits as SO in the month of August.

Leave him at Dayton. He is the big chip to trade this winter to get young, controllable pitching (one of the big chips is a better way to phrase that).

My knee-jerk reaction is to leave him in Dayton.
He's 19. I want him to dominate the league over the next couple of months.
That said, he's doing a pretty good approximation of that currently. And the two months before this were pretty great too. His last three months OPS would lead the league (min. 250 PA), fwiw.
As an aside, he's had only 16 errors as a full-time SS. He already seems to have sure hands and scouts (mostly) insist he's a legitimate SS in terms of range and arm. That's fantastic to see.
Am I crazy to insist that the Reds have more upside/ high floor pitching in the pipeline than hitting?
Phillips and Richardson next year.
Aguiar and Lowder the season after.
Petty, Floyd, Hollan, and Acuna after that.
Schoenwetter (and perhaps Sheng-En Lin) beyond.
This added to a rotation that has five legitimate starters that aren't free agents until four years from now-- Greene, Lodolo, Ashcraft, Williamson, and Abbott-- and a relief corps led by Alexis Diaz and a bunch of also-rans.
I really like how that lines up, honestly.
Richardson and Phillips can be asbolutely filthy in the pen while learning how to pitch at the major league level in long or middle relief roles. They can replace the ineffective or injured while still pitching in the majors. Roa, Stoudt, and a ton of free agents can be added as well. (And they definitely have the cash for that.)

I'd much prefer they sign that guy in free agency-- and sign (at least) a couple more back-end relief guys as well. Will Smith and David Robertson, for example, in addition to, say, Giolito, Stroman, Nola, Gray, Snell, Montgomery, Paxton, or Urias.
They've definitely got the cash to do that.

I think Giolito is a great fit
What would you say.....ya do here?

I do too, but he's maddening to fans. stretches of dominance with serious turds sprinkled in.
I'd be thrilled if they got him. But if the rotation on OF 2024 is a healthy Greene, Lodolo, Abbott, Williamson, Ashcraft, well, I think I'm fine with that?*

On Arroyo, just a note that Dayton’s schedule ends on September 10. That leaves 23 days for him to play. 21 games.
AA Lookouts go an additional week in their regular season.
