Reds shouldn’t be out-homered at home, a guy like this would help solve that.
Whose spot does he take, KC, in a Friedl/ Dunn/ Fraley/ Benson/ Steer OF?

It’s a challenging question, BZ, but not immediate as I don’t see Hinds arriving until late 2024 or 2025. So who knows what things will look like then.

But, not to cop out, Hinds replaces a RHH. Either Dunn or maybe Steer moves to DH if Votto departs/retires.

Cam Collier went 1-for-2 with a home run and two walks today. He entered today hitting .385/.468/.538 with a 174 wRC+ over his last 77 PA.

Just a reminder that Cam Collier is only one month older than Max Clark and three months older than Walker Jenkins. #Reds
Well, that's what those words mean. He was here. If they don't keep him, he will have been lost/subtracted. I headed out the door today with two shoes on my feet. If I don't return with them, I have lost them. If I do return with them, I haven't added them. ---M2

His final rehab date can't be any later than Wednesday unless he reinjures himself. Has to be added back to the 40 man, which is currently full, and activated to the 26 man or optioned.

In 3 starts covering 17.1 innings, Joe Boyle has walked 7 and struck out 28. That works out to be 3.6/9 BB and 14.5/9 K.

The Boyle trade reminds me a lot of the Tanner trade (Rainey for Roark).

if the A's fixed Boyle, bully for them. I have some real doubts it was going to happen here.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

I've always wondered how much of baseball is getting the right person to the right situation.
    WHEN DOES IT STOP!?!?

Levi Stoudt with 2 IP, 7 H, 7 ER and now a 6.96 ERA at AAA. You have to wonder if he retains his 40-man roster spot over the winter.

I was really hoping to see Blake Dunn instead of Siriani (spelling), as I feel he's more ready (and with Fraley out, we could use the beard).

The REDS have been feeling the crunch on the 40-man roster and it's only a matter of time before they leave guys off of it that will get scooped up. A trade of volume for quality is necessary this Winter.

Dayton with 1 hit (Carlos Jorge) through 6 innings. They trail 3-0.

I think this has always been about half of it.

Someone can be moved to the 60-day DL to open up a spot on the 40-man, can't they?

I don't think the crunch is as severe as we thought it would be. Once Newman and Senzel are non-tendered and Casali and Farmer are FA, there will be room. The only must adds from the minors are Hinds, Acuna and Phillips. On the 60 Day IL you have Lodolo and Antone. Maybe Vlad and Dunn, but those guys aren't certain adds IMO. I think SanMartin and Overton won't be brought back to the 40-man roster. There are also guys on the 40 man who are expendable. Busenitz, Kennedy, Legumina, Law, Martini. IF they need room, Stoudt and Santillan aren't guys who for sure should be protected.

The reds applied for and received a second rehab stint for Antone. Evidently that is possible since he had TJ Surgery. He doesn't need to be added on Wednesday.
