The plan is, considering that he is the greatest athlete in history, he will play both the SS and 3B positions at the same time and it will free up the extra infielder to play in the outfield and have a 4 man outfield.

Then MLB will ban it like the shift. You can't win.

Reds 1-0 in the Elly Era.

That was the most entertaining 190 minutes I’ve seen in awhile.

    Would tonight be a W without 44?

    I'm gonna say no.

On base three times? I’d say almost certainly not.

He didn’t get squat to hit. LA was definitely afraid to pitch to him

Even without his stats, the energy in the stadium and the team was different. The Elly affect. Super impressive Debut. Even his ground out was a 108mph rocket.

It's strange to type it but those two walks impressed me more than if he'd hit two bombs. His maturity (as a 21 year old phenom) was amazing tonight.
How do we know he's not Mel Torme?

Watching the highlights, and good lord is Sadak an awful announcer. He has such a cornball ass voice, he needs to go just as bad as pre-slur Thom Brenneman did. Blech.

    Game seemed cool otherwise.

All of which means he'll plague Cincinnati forever.

Cool on the field perspective of ELDC’s first MLB hit.

I'm with ya. I liked him at first, I guess mainly because he was the anti-Thom. But man, sometimes he just can't help himself and let the action speak for itself. Just the overall conjecture and talking incessantly over top of everything...it gets annoying.

I usually like him, but he was way over the top with his obviously prepared comments about EDLC's debut. It was a little cringy to me.

Like, yes he is an incredible ballplayer, but he isn't bringing in world peace or trying to cure cancer or something...we can be a fan of his game without worshiping the guy.

Sadak trying to inject some gravitas into an announcing career that so far for him has been completely lacking in it
(Referring to Jack Hannahan signing with a Korean team)
Since there are no teams on the moon, I guess South Korea's far enough from Cincinnati to satisfy me.

Their social media has posted a number of videos like this lately (usually from the dugout). It's really cool to see things from that perspective.

Here's McLain's hit to end the game as seen from the dugout: https://twitter.com/Reds/status/1666...876454400?s=20
