De La Cruz didn't disappoint with his first big league blast, crushing it 114.8 mph off the bat with a 458-foot distance.

That was the easiest-looking triple I've ever seen.

Only Dunn smoked balls like that. An absolute moonshot.

I'm usually drawn to stoic players like Hunter Greene and Matt McLain, but it's good to have a balance of personalities. The cool thing about the flashy swagger of EDLC is it doesn't seem like "me-me-me". From all accounts, he's a great teammate, he's always on the top step of the dugout congratulating guys. He seems to love the game and love to win.

I'd pay somebody $20 cash to see an overlay of Elly De La Cruz, Deion Sanders, and a Billy Hamilton legging out a triple synced to initial contact.

I think I'd have to go back to 1999 to find a Reds team that exceeded my expected enjoyment more than this team has to date.

Usually we say things like "if everything goes right"...but of course it never does. The thing with this team is...everything with these youngsters has pretty much gone right. From Steer to McLain to Abbott to EDLC to Alexis Diaz...they've all come up roses this year. Amazing

The correct acronym/nickname is LED cause it’s his name (Elly D), and because not only does he light it up, he makes the whole world a brighter place!

I'm wondering if there's any other player in MLB history who's 1st 11 total bases+walks came without a single?

I agree. And I don't mind that kind of swagger at all.

Pat Kelly the manager of the Louisville Bats said he's had both Billy Hamilton and Elly De La Cruz and Elly is the fastest.

I’d like to add circa 1986-87 Eric Davis to that race
