It takes Elly a week or two to get going at every level starting out. The kid is already getting pitched around too

That is the problem with so many comments on this board. He has been made to be a god. Greatest man to ever touch a bat. Bonds, Aaron, Mays, Mantle, Ruth and Gehrig are Tball hacks in comparison. The same way with Greene. He has been hyped to death. These guys are expected to play like seasoned all stars from day one.

He’s not going to get fastballs until he can show he can either hit or lay off the breaking stuff.

Welcome to The Show Elly De La Cruz!

He's 21 and k'd at a 29% rate in the minors. That's the same rate as Aaron Judge this year and similar to another young hitter JRod (27%) it will probably improve as he sees more MLB breaking balls

He’s got a hit in every game of his major league career. Not even DiMaggio did that.

He laid off quite a bit and worked some deep counts last night, just wasn’t seeing it enough to connect. I’m interested to see how he bounces back. Kershaw is Kershaw and Montgomery was carving. He won’t be facing that kind of lefty off speed stuff everyday.

Ha, I get it, he’s Dominican and struck out so he’s like Pedro Soriano from the 1980s sports comedy Major League. Whew that’s good.

I'd like to see fewer K's too, but so far in 17 PAs he has 2 BB's 5 Hits including a double, a triple and a Home Run. His slash line is .333/.412/.733/1.145. If he keeps doing that, I don't care if he strikes out 50% of the time.

Obviously he needs to cut the K's, but until he becomes an automatic out due to it, lets see what happens. He does seem a lot weaker hitting from the RH side with 5Ks in 6 PAs.

All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

I didn't know he was Dominican. The punchline was more in his inability to handle the offspeed stuff. But I know how hyper-focused you are on nationalities and all that. So I'll ask you:

Spencer Steer went to college in Oregon. Does that mean duck jokes are off the table too? Because that would be quackers.

    Don’t disagree at all.

I’m fairness half of those ABs were against Kershaw who is a future HOF player.
