Does anyone know what are the repercussions, if any, of him ignoring the 3rd base coach in todays MLB?
Does it depend on the result? Does it depend on the player?
Is it a team by team thing or is there an MLB standard?
Seems harsh, firing the third base coach seems extreme to me. He just needs to learn how fast Elly is...

The 3rd base coach is making a suggestion, his actions have no rules tied to them by any entity outside of the management. He was not the first guy to do that this year nor will he be the last

That was the gist of my question....if Bell or someone has any hard line for that type of thing. But then membengal's comment makes sense that the line is different for each player based on whatever he is capable of.
This would just be part of a learning curve then.
JR House seemed more amused than anything. Probably helped that he was safe and the score was 7-0 at the time.

I think those situations are usually handled case by case. I think it probably more dangerous for the coach to make the bad decision over and over. Generally a manager will talk to the player and make sure they are acting on their aggression more than their inability to take orders
