    Covid 2023

Allow me to report on my most recent family experience with Covid. In the interest of brevity, I know there will be questions from details I leave out; please ask direct questions and I'll be happy to answer:

In early August my family met for a get together at our cottage in northern MI. Shortly after I arrive my sister announces her boyfriend isn't feeling good and tested positive for Covid. We don't see him for awhile. She tries to isolate from him. 5 days later she tests positive. 6 days later my girlfriend tests positive. 6 days later I get a scratchy throat and feeling a little blah. I refuse to test and I told my sister she was an idiot for testing AND announcing it to the community.

I treated my "bug" with grape juice, Zinc, Vit D and hydrogen peroxide rinses. 5 days later I was completely symptom free. 11 days later my girlfriend is still somewhat congested and has a cough. My sister and her partner immediately went to Urgent Care and got Paxlovid. They were healed in less than a week. I didn't qualify nor I think I needed Paxlovid.

My vax status is one booster after the initial 2 dose regime. My last dose was Dec 2021. I have no plans for a future booster. I'm done. Natural immunity is great for me. I had a bad case last summer in Aug. This one was nothing more than a mild head cold.

    Conclusions:

This bug is engineered and it is highly highly infectious. It also is a neutered puppy as of now for various reasons. It is nuts to cancel football games and panic the world over this thing.

There is a 5 day period between exposure and symptoms

Because it is so contagious, yeah we will have another wave this Fall. But people will not be getting really sick. The folks with serious health issues should be cautious as they should with any bug.

My 87 yr old mother never got sick

2020 called. They want their pandemic back

Study suggests N95 Covid Masks may expose wearers to dangerous level of Toxic Compounds linked to seizures and cancer

The surgical N95 mask has been held up as the gold standard when it comes to protecting against Covid.

But a study quietly re-shared by the National Institutes of Health in spring suggests the tight-fitting mask may expose users to dangerous levels of toxic chemicals.

Researchers from Jeonbuk National University in South Korea looked at two types of disposable medical-grade masks, as well as several reusable cotton masks.

The study found that the chemicals released by these masks had eight times the recommended safety limit of toxic volatile organic compounds (TVOCs).

Inhaling TVOCs has been linked to health issues like headaches and nausea, while prolonged and repeated has been linked to organ damage and even cancer.

    Re: Covid 2023

I am currently in the hospital with Covid. I have had it for two weeks now.

I used normal treatments at home for the first week, but it only got worse, so my doctor recommended I go to hospital for treatment there. I am slowly getting better, but will likely be here another week.

I am fully boosted. My last boost was in February. My doctors have told me the vaccine and boosters likely saved my life.

Covid affects everyone differently and no one should draw any conclusions from any one singular reaction.

God bless you and get well soon

Here's the thing with the vaccine...at first it was going to protect us from getting it...then protect us from spreading it...then protect us from getting seriously sick (hospitalized) and now we're down to "it saved your life".

If you are fully vaccinated/boosted and you're still so sick with that disease that you're hospitalized, I'd say there are some serious questions to be asked about the effectiveness of the vaccine. That's not good and it's not an advertisement for getting the vax. We're now down to "it'll save your life." Well there's not much else to go from here. That's very disappointing to hear. I'm awfully glad that you're recovering but...

    Thanks for the well wishes

As I have mentioned many times, I’m a kidney transplant patient, which means I’m immune compromised and high risk for Covid and many other issues. That is why I am in the hospital now with Covid. As I said, everyone’s case is different and we shouldn’t draw any conclusions from one case.

That said, the main goal of vaccines is to save lives. Over a million Americans are dead from Covid, the vast majority did not get the vaccine either because it was not available or they choose not to. Once the vaccine was available, nearly all those that took it, and got Covid, survived. It did achieved its goal. The vaccine has been an overwhelming success.

Did you get or try to get Paxlovid? I would think that would be more beneficial than anything for you.

Given your medical history, you've got to be careful about any bug. Were I you, I likely would get all the vaxes but I'd still question just how effective they are
