Just looking at the remaining games for all the teams left...it's hard not to see the season ending like a typical Reds game this year...coming right down to the wire. I would not be surprised at all to see this not being sorted out until the final day, and tie-breakers will likely be involved.

What hyper-tension season. Extremely entertaining too~

The Cubbies are home with the Pirates and Rockies this week. But, they end next week on the road with the Braves and the Brewers. If the Pirates can maybe snatch one or hopefully 2 games as well as the Rockies I'd say it's bye-bye Cubbies!

The Reds on the other hand, we finish up the last homestand with the Twins (which we should sweep) and the Pirates. Next week we finish up on the road with the Guardians and Cardinals. Maybe a split with Cleveland and at least one win against the Cards (they always give us trouble for some strange reason).

Hopefully 7-3 for our last 10 and 6-6 for the Cubs. That would put us at 86-76 and the Cubs at 84-78. Now all we have to do is hope the Diamondbacks go stone cold for the remainder of their season. They finish with the Giants, Yankees, White Sox and Astros. They could sweep the White Sox but, the rest are toss ups.

    Fingers crossed. Go Reds!

It very well could end up like that. And, yes to "extremely entertaining too." That's been missed the last few years.

Reds went from under 30% chance to make the playoffs to 43% tonight (Miami at 43, CHC at 46, and Arizona at 56).

What I'm curious to see is will the Brewers, Braves and Dodgers (who play many of the contending teams) rest players in the upcoming stretch.

    We’re back.

1999 wild card tiebreaker play in game all over again. (Apologize if this was already mentioned)

Didn't expect the Reds to be in it and the Bengals' season potentially being over on September 19th...

The one thing that is not really helping the Reds right now is that it appears the Braves are taking a mini-vacation after clinching. I would prefer the Dodgers and Braves to keep mashing since they have several games left with the teams in the chase....most notably that Braves Cubs series at the end.

Someone might want to tell the Braves it's not so easy to turn it off and then back on again for the playoffs especially for a young team. Clinching so early could be a detriment to them.

Gotta give the Marlins some props. When I saw their September schedule and had a stretch of 13 consecutive games against LA, PHL, MIL and ATL I thought they would get closed out but they went 8-5. They have one final series against MIL, who will probably have clinched and does not care and dreck. With the tie breaker over us they are who I am most concerned with

That is why we need the Reds to leap the Cubs, IMO. Ultimately all the Reds can do is keep winning, but if they can put either the Cubs or D-backs behind them, the Marlins won't factor in as heavily.

And the Marlins are heating up at the right time....like the Reds appear to be doing. Great games ahead.
