Matt McLain re-aggrevated his oblique (grade two strain) on his rehab assignment. He’s out for the regular season.

Pretty much sums up the season. So close but yet so far.

Stinks about McLain but it's only 5 games. India is certainly capable of going on a 5 game tear as is anyone in the lineup.
McLain may have been ice cold for 5 games anyway.

Someone said the other day that India is still injured, but playing.

He's batting .159 and slugging .318 in September. He's not going on any tear.

Could he make it back for the World Series?

Means nothing. It's 5 games. A career .200 hitter can go on a tear for 5 games.
Remember Jason Vosler's or Nick Martini's first 5 Reds games? They were pretty good for a short period.
I'm not predicting that India will go on a tear. Just saying he is absolutely capable and it wouldn't surprise me. He had a good game Sunday.

I would have flopped Elly and Marte in the lineup to separate the fully separate the guys with 5 letters in their last names. Though Benson, Marte, Elly would have worked even better.

My strategy for the season would be to win out. But that's just me.

Win 5 straight and hope for help. Anything is possible... the Bengals won a game.
