A catcher wouldn't hurt if there's one that can be taken that high.

Well, that's what those words mean. He was here. If they don't keep him, he will have been lost/subtracted. I headed out the door today with two shoes on my feet. If I don't return with them, I have lost them. If I do return with them, I haven't added them. ---M2

I think a stud OF, lefty middle of the order bat, and front line SP are the team needs(I don't see a catcher worth taking at 2). Early on I can see Wetherholt, Kurtz, Bazzana, Burns, Honeycutt, Condon, and from the high school ranks Griffin as potential picks at #2. It seems kind of wide open for some guys to step up into that top 3 range so it should be a lot of fun following the progress of these players. Caglianone has monster potential, but is a bit of a project. Still though he's a guy who could flip the switch and be a #1 overall candidate.

The Cincinnati Reds and San Diego Padres both finished 82-80 in 2023.

The #Reds will pick #2 overall in the 2024 MLB Draft.

The Padres will pick 25th (!!!)

Haha I remember one Christmas when I was 15 my parents told me to just make a list for what I wanted. I was a huge nerd and had a Nintendo 64 and Sony PlayStation. So, I put a total of a dozen games on the list and put a note “I couldn’t decide between these so just pick a couple, I’ll like any of them.” Christmas morning comes along and I got every single game on the list and my dad had a huge grin on his face. This is kind of like that morning.

Lots and lots of time to find out.

Skenes was a mid first-rounder at this time last season.

All things being equal, I'd love to have a monster TOR bonafide ace to pair with Lowder ahead of Greene, Lodolo, and company for four or five seasons.

Yes. We get to sit back and watch for 6 months as these young prospects take themselves to another level, and it should be a growth spurt of different proportions for all of them.

Somehow it just seems right that San Diego is picking 25th after spending all of that money and still finishing with the same record as the REDS, who practically spent nothing.
