Noelvi Marte’s road back to the Cincinnati Reds begins tomorrow

As David Bell intimated, Marte will work his way back while being deployed all over the infield, something that, in theory, will also be the case when he makes his way back to the Cincinnati roster.

That’ll allow the other moving parts there to move around, too, with Jonathan India perhaps getting more time at DH/1B while Jeimer Candelario rotates through DH/1B/3B, too.

Anyway, in the wake of Marte’s absence and the wave of injuries to other Cincinnati infielders, here’s where they stand as a team offensively at certain key positions in their lineup as of June 10th:

DH - 72 wRC+ (27th)

3B - 77 wRC+ (28th)

1B - 65 wRC+ (28th)

2B - 95 wRC+ (t-15th)

Maybe, just maybe, that’ll allow for Bell to put those folks in better matchups and help raise those putrid wRC+ ranks at each position accordingly.

This may have already been covered in here, and I should already know it anyway, but is he eligble to take part in baseball activities prior to his suspension being lifted? If so, what is he permitted to do? If not, seems like an entire wasted season to me.

If I remember correctly, he’s been allowed to be playing at the Arizona complex and he has been.

Well, it might be "dawg" but it's also wrecking one's credibility and integrity to deny when the truth is otherwise. I don't know what Marte's story is (I suspect there was something lost in translation), but beware when someone is being tough because they don't want you to grasp the real truth of the behavior they're engaging in.

We all hope he comes back with his 2023 September numbers, but September numbers sometimes.... are September numbers.

I hope the fan base will be patient with him... I suspect he's have some struggles. His defense, however will be welcome.
