Name That Tune: Classic Rock Lyrics --- One Toke Over the Line

Can you name the song from which these lyrics came? I'll add some more favorites after you sample these.

    1. "Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose. Nothin', don't mean nothin' , 'hon' if it ain't free ... "

    2. "Just remember this, my girl, when you look up in the sky. You can see the stars but still not see the light."

    3. Such are promises. All lies and jest. A man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest."

    4. "And I need you more than want you. And I want you for all time."

    5. "I have my ship and all her flags are a-flying. She is all I have left and music is her name."

    6. "Being good isn't always easy, no matter how hard I tried. When he started sweet talkin' to me, he'd come and tell me 'everything is alright' ."

    7. "I know you're looking for a ruby in a mountain of rocks. But there ain't no Coupe de Ville hidin' at the bottom of a Cracker Jack box."

    8. "Same old song . Just a drop of water in an endless sea. All we do crumbles to the ground, though we refuse to see."

    9. "He was born a pauper to a pawn on a Christmas day, when the New York Times said, 'God is dead and the war's begun' ."

    10. "Tin soldiers and Nixon coming. We're finally on our own. This summer I hear the drumming... "

How many can you name, RZ'ers?

Great list Ky Fried Redleg. I’m too late to name the songs but they all echoed through my head and made me sigh. So many of those songs are in the soundtrack of my life. Where has all the time gone?

My soundtrack, as well, Roy. Makes me sad. But I'm glad I grew up to such a wonderful soundtrack. I'll be adding a lot more. Feel free to name them.
