    37. My dog Sam eats purple flowers. Ain't got much but what we got's ours.

    38. And you can see them there on Sunday morning. Stand up and sing about what it's like up there. They call it paradise. I don't know why. You call someplace paradise Kiss it goodbye

    39. Come up on different streets, they both were streets of shame. Both dirty, both mean, yes, and the dream was just the same
And I dreamed your dream for you and now your dream is real. How can you look at me as if I was just another one of your deals?

    40. When I breeze into that city people gonna stoop and bow. All them women gonna make me teach 'em what they don't know how

    41. So many people have come and gone. Their faces fade as the years go by. Yet I still recall as I wander on as clear as the sun in the summer sky

    42. You know I saw Miss Lucy down along the tracks. She lost her home and her family and she won't be coming back

    43. Can the child within my heart rise above? Can I sail through the changin' ocean tides? Can I handle the seasons of my life?

44 Oh it doesn't matter what you wear just as long as you are there. So come on ev'ry guy grab a girl. Everywhere around the world.

I'll take my scorecard and pencil and beer and hot dog and rage at the dips and cheer at the highs, but I'm not ever going to stop loving this game and this team and nobody will ever take that away from me." dfs on 2/25/2024 correctly named the song which has the following lyric, but I just wanted to add that it is one of my most favorite lyrics ever: "And I need you more than want you, and I want you for all time." So simple, so perfect a lyric by Jimmie Webb in composing "Wichita Lineman" (and such a great performance by Glen Campbell).

Agree with all of this post. A favorite favorite lyric of mine, as well. Simple, but profound. We can all relate to that feeling at one time in our lives.

Love everything about the song. EVERYTHING! Also find it haunting and sad that we still haven't learned to heed the words. Will eventually be our demise.
