    Fairchild.

I think it's an easy call, assuming he's not dealt.

I agree but I don't really think Fairchild will be dealt. What could impact his role is if someone else is dealt that can fill Fairchild's role. I actually am quite happy to have Fairchild in this role. He's competent at pretty much everything and if he could just slug a little bit more he'd be a borderline candidate to be a regular on a lot of teams.

Harry Lime. No, he was the third man.

Fairchild would have to be outplayed by people who are probably not good enough yet to achieve that.

Could be. I've heard of people being carried to Ohio in a swarm of bees.

Fairchild unless the Reds make a trade for someone.

IF India or McLain start the year on the IL, then Josh Harrison.

    Robbie Grossman.

When the Reds FO realize they need a better OF'er against lefties off the bench, and sign him for peanuts.

I like Fairchild. Hes a capable OF in all spots, basically a league average bat and right handed. He should have a spot.

Barrero sucks. Harrison is washed. Im intrigued by Bubba but he gives me Billy Hamilton vibes not in a good way.

Re: Who Is Your Prediction to be the 26th Man

Put me down as hoping for an addition from outside the organization. They still really need a guy who can mash LHP in the OF and it would be nice if they had a better defensive option for the middle infield. For all this "depth" they have in the IF, the only good defender is Matt McLain and the only other potentially good defender is EDLC. The rest of these guys are corner guys or DH types. The NRIs in camp are all minor leaguers or washed-up big leaguers. I'd still be after Duvall or Taylor to fill the need against LHP.

If they don't add anyone, I think Fairchild is the best choice. Barrero is just another guy who can't really play any position very well and he can't hit big league pitching. I like Bubba's speed, but I'd take Fairchild's overall game over his.

All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Re: Who Is Your Prediction to be the 26th Man

26th man? More realistically, who will be the 27th and 28th men? Because every year Reds come out of ST with guys on the IL. So they have to go deeper into the ST group to fill out the OD roster.

If we guess that Lodolo and India will need more time, that might secure a spot for Brandon Williamson. It might also open a spot for Barrero simply because he is out of options. Look for Tony Kemp as a wild card. I figure Fairchild is a no-doubter to make the team.

Reds could always look outside for more help, but if there are short term injuries I think they have enough plausible guys in ST to provide temporary help. Obviously if there are major injuries it opens up a more aggressive search for more players.
